Careers & Volunteering
Bring your skills to communities across Africa
Volunteer with us
Volunteers help us reach more pupils, communities and young women. Every volunteer role has a clear purpose, an agreed time commitment, and suitable screening and safeguarding. Volunteer roles are unpaid, although reasonable, pre-approved expenses may be reimbursed.
Education support
Tutor pupils, run reading clubs and mathematics activities, or help prepare learning materials for rural schools.
Water and technical
Engineers, hydrologists and water-quality specialists can advise on assessments, testing and community maintenance.
Mentoring young women
Share your trade or business experience as a mentor, or coach apprentices on pricing, customer care and recordkeeping.
Professional skills
Finance, legal, communications, fundraising, design, web and monitoring and evaluation skills all strengthen our work.
What to expect
- A defined role with an agreed start date and time commitment.
- A short orientation on our values, approach and safeguarding policies.
- Screening that fits the role, with extra checks for anyone working with children.
- A named contact for support, and feedback at the end of your placement.
Careers
We are not advertising any paid positions at the moment. When roles open, they will be listed on this page with a description, location and how to apply.
If you would like us to keep your details in mind, tell us about your background and the kind of role you are looking for. Choose "Careers" on the contact form.
Our commitment to people
We aim to be an inclusive organisation. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, and we design roles so that barriers affecting women, young people and people with disabilities are considered. Everyone who works or volunteers with us follows our child-protection, anti-harassment and complaint-reporting procedures.
