Our Clean Water Access Programme aims to improve access to safe and reliable water in rural communities across Africa.
We seek to work with community members, local authorities, technical experts, and development partners to identify water-access challenges and support appropriate, sustainable solutions.
Our focus areas include
- Community needs assessments: Understanding existing water sources, accessibility challenges, and priority needs.
- Water infrastructure support: Mobilising resources and partnerships for suitable community water projects.
- Water safety and hygiene awareness: Promoting practices that help households and communities handle and store water safely.
- Community participation: Encouraging local ownership and involvement in planning, implementation, and maintenance.
- Sustainability and monitoring: Supporting practical arrangements for maintaining water facilities and monitoring their continued use.
We recognise that providing a water source is only part of the solution. Long-term impact also depends on water quality, reliable operation, community ownership, and appropriate maintenance.
